Reviews about Sears Hometown Store

  • July 20, 2020, by James Bond
Recently moved back to Shelbyville after years and sold all appliance in with the house. So the Mrs. and me went price hunting on stuff for our new home. First stop was Lowe's. Got a quote from them but come to find out Shelbyville now has their very own Sears store. So we headed on over and were met with customer service that I haven't experienced in years, and they have the awards to back it up (posted on the door for all to see). Times have changed a lot and it seems like all anyone wants anymore is the almighty dollar. As good as money is, all the employees here seem to genuinely care about their customers. Right when you walk in the door it just feels different. I don't feel like I'm walking on to a car lot with somebody tryin to sell, sell, sell. Feels more like I'm talkin to a friend I know who just so happens to know a lot about the things I was interested in. We dealt with Ron on the selling end but everyone was friendly and answered any questions we had so I couldn't recommend anyone particular. A couple things Lowe's quoted were cheaper, and we found a Kenmore fridge we liked better that was cheaper anyway. On the rest they did a price match which equaled Lowe's price AND Sears' extra incentive of 10% of the difference. I also got to take advantage of an offer they were doing with a sears card (which I forgot i even had) on appliance stuff, so I got a little more off still. All this good to say and why 4 stars? Absolutely the only complaint I have is that they seemed to be a little under-staffed. To their defense, it did seem like 4 or 5 of us showed up at the same time all wanting something different. Lol. This did slow the process a little bit but it's understandable. Considering the bustle, it was all done very timely. If anyone had to wait, they were offered a glass of water and to make ourselves at home on the comfy patio set they have out. We will DEFINITELY be back. As for the review above, I personally never experienced anything remotely like this. Compared to Ron, they were all young, but to their credit, all seemed capable and fairly knowledgable. Personally, I'd opt for gettin it fixed over returnin it anyway . . . Seems like the logical next step but that's all a matter of customer choice anyway. Also, check comin from Dallas don't sound right, but what do I know. To his defense, he could have been havin an off day . . . Maybe they were havin an off day cause it just don't sound right . . . I'm not to judge either way but I thought it deserved a shot at a good review for a change. Seems like the only time anyone reviews anything anymore is if they're gonna complain . . . As for Shelbyville Sears, I have none. Keep up the good work and God bless!
