Reviews about Dee's Custom Upholstery
- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆November 30, 2019, by Jewel JewelThe key word in custom upholstery is "custom." That means the upholsterer asks you, the customer, the specifications of how you, the customer, would like your furniture to be customized. Professional means the upholsterer provides you, the customer, a date the custom upholstery will be completed -- versus having to ask for months when will it be done. Versus, you the customer, having to provide a date that you will pick up since a date will not be provided. Professional meaning when your furniture is completed in your home, it is "complete." The nail tacks were not forgotten, the cording was not forgotten, the cushion was done to the type you like for your seating comfort, an alternative material was not used that the upholsterer liked versus what you, the customer, specified, etc. Professional meaning that the upholster writes down your order, in detail, at the beginning of the custom work versus you, the customer, writing out what you'd like. Professional meaning the upholsterer does not become offended when you ask for parts of an item to be redone to your custom specifications. Professional means the upholsterer does not send you a text on your job at 2 pm, saying come pick up your items outside in the van and have someone complete it for you. There is decency and order in anything, including ending or transitioning a custom job. Professional means when a customer leaves a message, return the calls, versus giving a litany of reasons why you did not return the call. Professional means do not use sarcasm when a customer asks a question. For example, how can we make the weight of this item heavier? Response from the upholsterer, "I don't know, put some rocks in it." Professional means if a customer takes the initiative to write our their specifics, order what's needed in a timely fashion versus having the customer wait for three months -- and never receive that part of the furniture or be reimbursed for that part of the furniture. "Professional custom" means to have the maturity to discuss the custom furniture job directly, face-to-face with the customer to complete the job versus running, dodging and being offended. Professional means reading the specifics of the written custom order versus texting to ask what was already written. The simplicity of this is simply to communicate versus being passive aggressive. Write the order down, provide a copy of the "entire" written order to the customer. Provide a date it will be completed, versus doing and completing other jobs that came in afterwards. If there are questions, call or meet with the customer. And don't ask the customer to come pick up their custom, unfinished items, outside of your shop in a van. Have human decency and professionalism.
